Theta Lab's Approach to Science
| Home | There is a modern myth propagating in today's society that some technologies are inherently beneficial and other technologies destructive. While it is apparently true that technologies can cause disastrous consequences (Hiroshima), or can produce equally significant benefits (penicillin), technologies are inherently amoral like the science they are based upon. Technology can only be applied for constructive or destructive purposes by people. Whether technology ultimately helps mankind or harms it is entirely dependent on the intentions of its user and does not depend on any inherent quality of the technology itself.
Therefore, a responsible technologist must consider who will apply his creations to the world, and how they will do so. The recognition of this responsibility is a driving force behind Theta Lab and we use this principle as a beacon in our development process. We strive not only to develop technologies that have a significant potential for societal change, but we ensure they are used to improve mankind.
